INTRODUCTION

We here in EPS have a vast catalogue of plasticizers & solvents that are a family of man-made chemical compounds developed in the last century to be used in the manufacturing of plastics. They are colorless, odorless, oily liquids that don’t evaporate easily and do not chemically bind to the material they are added to.

EPS is the pioneer and sole producer in the MENA region of the most widespread plasticizers; DOP and DBP.

Di-octyl Phthalate is the most widely used plasticizer in polymer products, mainly PVC compounding as it has the function of improving the materials’ polymer flexibility and workability. It’s cost effective, general-purpose plasticizer used in a range of applications including:

  • Flooring

  • Cables

  • Profiles

  • Medical products like blood bags

Technical characteristics – Table & Self-adhesive foils

Di-butyl Phthalate is a specialist plasticizer that can also be used a gelling aid, antifoam agent or lubricant. It is vastly used in the coating industry as primary plasticizer and other applications including:

  • Advanced textile products

  • Insecticides

  • Packaging materials

  • Cosmetic products

  • School supplies

N-Butyl Acetate is a chemical compound commonly used as a solvent in the production of lacquers, inks and adhesives. The most common use of normal butyl acetate is as a solvent in the production of lacquers and paints and other applications including:

  • Pharmaceutical industry as a solvent or an extraction agent.

  • Perfumes as a fragrance solvent.

  • Cleaning and car care products as an anti-corrosive agent.
